How will your donation be used?

The Aston Annual Fund - helping Ason students to Shine

In 2008 we established four new sub funds that enable you to direct your gift to a part of the University to which you feel particularly attached or proud. Whether you would like to improve facilities in the Guild, provide greater financial support to students through scholarships and bursaries, or help us augment the academic opportunities afforded to our students, you can do so through the AAF. Alternatively, you can give to the Vice Chancellor's Fund, which allows us to put your gift towards the University's overall ambitions and strategic plan.

The information below gives you an insight into how your donation will be used when you make a gift to the Annual Fund.

The Aston Scholarship Fund

Aston is keen to continue our tradition of offering high quality education to the brightest and most talented students, regardless of social background. Many alumni go on to excel in their chosen field, and we are committed to easing the financial pressures that may adversely affect their academic study.

The Aston Scholarship Fund allows you to help support a student who has an exceptional skill or ability, or who would be unable to complete their studies without financial support.

The Aston Guild Fund

Aston’s students are actively involved in a wide range of sports, societies and volunteer work. From archery to wine tasting, debating to break dancing, our students are eager to get the most out of Aston and everything it has to offer.

The Annual Fund has already supported numerous projects within the Guild, including two student minibuses, a multimedia suite and improved computing technologies. Your gift can provide valuable funding for student sport clubs and societies, and other student focused initiatives. Your gift can also help to expand our excellent student support services, such as the Student Advice Centre and the Aston Campus Residents Association.

The Aston Academic Opportunity Fund

Aston has an impressive record in both the quality of its teaching and research, and particularly in graduate employment. This has been achieved by a distinctive academic experience that leverages pioneering teaching methods and facilities and gives students the opportunity to participate in work placements and volunteering initiatives that provide invaluable insight into life after graduation.

Your support will help us to further develop and improve the Aston experience and widen such opportunities for our students. Your gift can help provide cutting edge facilities and technologies and enhance teaching spaces.

The Vice Chancellor's Fund

The Vice Chancellor’s Fund has been established to help support projects right across the University, from teaching and research to capital building projects.

Your gift can help to support an area of need within the University, or projects that help to support Aston’s 2012 strategic plan. Donations to this fund will also help initiatives identified by the University’s senior management, allowing us to direct funds to areas of greatest need.
